Consultant Led complete barn renovation and hotel fit out
Overview
Complete rennovation and fit out of derelict farm building to create high quality boutique hotel and restaurant. Included major structural works, repairs in traditional methods fused with high quality modern finishes.
The Project
Over 40 weeks this barn was salved from imminent collapse, totally renovated and converted into a high class hotel. So far the building has seen service as not just a restaurant and hotel but also a venue for weddings and corporate events, even providing the home to the film crew on location for the film 'Attonement'.
The challenge was to incorporate high quality modern materials into a deeply traditional structure, all in sympathy with it's isolated position in the rolling hills of Shropshire.
Natural materials were used throughout, from slate flooring to solid hardwood joinery. In order to meet building regulations but maintain the country feel, Iris designed some specialist elements in house. Hardwood framed, ledged and braced fire rated doors were drawn up, TRADA approval gained and they were manufactured by our specialist joiner.
The double sided fire place features another Iris detail, the chimney hood was manufactured to an Iris design to give maximm visibilty across the fire while still clearing smoke efficiently.
It is this attention to detail which makes Iris unique and allowed us to create the beautiful building seen in the photgraphs. Again, Iris excelled, delivering on time, budget and quality. |
