The Project This project, for a Japanese precision manufacturing company, required careful planning and design. The client has a strong corporate identity which required their facility to be updated, but the overall finish needed a 15 year lifespan. Due to the sheer size of the area and number of people involved, extensive design and visualisation work was needed to establish all details of the scheme. As the main sales hall for business, holding informal meetings and receiving large groups for factory tours, it was vital that disruption be kept to a minimum. In confirming all details of the design prior to starting on site, Iris could phase works to minimise disruption to our client's business. With strong colours to work into the area, it was a bold design, the key factor working against it was the need for a fifteen year lifespan. Drawing on elements and values from Mazak's company ethos and business sector, a design which could harmonise with both Japanese culture and British business style was created. With careful selection of quality materials, real wood veneers, finest quality Muirhead Scottish hides and extensive use of glass, Iris succeded in giving Mazak clear corporate definition but in a way which will not look dated and gaudy within their desired serviceable lifespan. Mazak's recommendation to Seco Tools, a key supplier to Mazak, that they use Iris for their own project speaks volumes for how the overall project was received by our client. |
