The Project
Following on from last year's successful project for Worcestershire County Council under the Wyre Forest Review, King Charles 1st School in Kidderminster retained Iris directly for this project.
Iris worked closely with the head of science and KC1's site manager to design a suite of rooms which met all their requirements in terms of facilities, versatility, ambience and budget.
After a detailed design phase including the production of 3D visualisations of each room to enable colour and layouts to be refined, the project was successfully completed during the busy summer holiday period.
The Iris site team successfully delivered everything the client was expecting on time, for a fixed cost and to our typical high standard.
Speaking to KC1 staff, they are amazed at how giving students facilities which have so obviously been designed with their educational needs at the forefront, has dramatically increased enthusiasm for the subjects and also the respect the students have for their classrooms.
The project was such a success, the team at Iris and KC1 are now working on a second phase of works to refurbish the remaining areas within the science block.
